Presentation of the online magazine of Mario Aletti and Germano Rossi

A journal of psychology of religion is a relevant piece of news in the Italian psychological literature. In Italy, therefore, the Psicologia della Religione e-journal / Psychology of Religion e-Journal (PRej) fills a gap. Neglected by academic institutions and from time to time looked askance at by some religious professionals, in Italy the Psychology of religion has been supported by a group of enthusiasts (the Italian Society for the Psychology of Religion or SIPR) in the last few decades.

Today SIPR publishes a Journal, welcoming and addressing international scholars, at- with contributions in both English and Italian. Such to cultural effort is both a daring challenge and a new opportunity, a service offered to every psychologist of religion and to every person who’s interested in the field. The Journal aims at offering room for exchange, at publishing researches and at promoting debate about phenomena and processes, psychological theories and methods and their implementation to the field of religion.

Therefore it will be crucial to stick to the greatest independence from denominations, from ideologies, from business oriented publishing policies and also from “trends” in the mainstream psychology.
